Report: Italy may nationalize Lukoil's refinery in Priolo Gargallo

ROME, Nov 25 (PRIME) -- All bailout scenarios for Russia’s Lukoil refinery the city of Priolo Gargallo on Sicily are considered, including nationalization, Minister of Enterprises and of the Made in Italy Adolfo Urso told newspaper La Sicilia on Friday.

The refinery may lose fuel after the E.U. introduces the sixth package of sanctions including a ban on Russian fuel imports December 5.

"Nationalization is the last resort we could turn to in case all other measures prove to be unsuccessful," Urso said.

The newspaper reported that the plant could buy oil outside Russia under extra guarantees of the Italian Export Credit Agency, ask the European Commission to postpone the embargo or it could be sold to a third party under the golden power instrument.
